In the 80’s, the first product of the current product group, the drawer cabinet was produced; it begins with the deceased (late) Mustafa Dolu, one of the teachers of Merzifon Art School, knocking on the door of Mahmut Usta, a steel goods dealer, in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul to order a drawer cabinet that he saw in Germany and couldn’t buy because the price was too high. The deceased (late) Mustafa Dolu shares the data he has, such as the catalog and drawings, with Mahmut Usta. However, Mahmut Usta, who had no machines other than arm presses and arm scissors in those years, said that it was difficult to make these cabinets and even impossible to bend the rails with the machines he had. Thereupon, Mahmut Dolu doesn’t give up and brings the rails and bearings he made from U-iron on a milling machine in his own workshop and puts them in front of Mahmut Usta. In response to Teacher Mustafa’s determination and desire, Mahmut Usta produces the first drawer cabinet with theree drawers, which can be considered a milestone today, by cutting and bending them on the arm machine and press.
Teacher Mustafa, makes plastic seperator molds for drawers only to be used in his own cabinets, and the fallowing years he sells the molds to Mahmut Usta, who started making tool cabinets serially, and this is how the first story of cabinet production for Koçel Çelik begins. We commemorate the deceased (late) Mustafa Dolu, who helped us reach these days with respect and gratitude…
